The 3d International Azerbaijani-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Building Innovations-2020” was held within the agreement on cooperation between Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction and National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, and with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Azerbaijan.
The opening of the conference was joined by the Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Azerbaijan Heorhii Selskyi and the Rector of Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, Professor Gulchohra Mammadova.
“The universe is going through complicated challenges, but it is not stopping our universities from gradually implementing the agreement on cooperation signed on November 20, 2017! This year, the 3d International Azerbaijani-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Building Innovations-2020” organized by National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” and Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (Baku, Azerbaijan) is held online.
“The teams of our universities are reacting to the new challenges professionally and effectively! I am proud of our scientific and academic staff holding joint scientific and educational events, as well as becoming friends both on Facebook and in the real life.
“By the way, my Facebook feed has been filled with the warm memories of Poltava Polytechnic scientists about the wonderful city of Baku and the 1st International Azerbaijani-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference of May, 2018 (we visited the conference as a delegation of 25 people).
“In the same way, Azerbaijani colleagues recall their visit to Poltava for the 2nd International Azerbaijani-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference in May, 2019 (delegation of 10 people). The conference “Building Innovations-2020” is held in a new form, however, the pandemic did not stop the scientific cooperation between our universities. This conference is also special because of the year it is happening in - the year of the 90th anniversary of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”. I would like to take this opportunity to invite everybody present here to the celebration planned for October,” the Rector of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko greeted the participants of the conference. The Rector also announced, that the languages of the conference are Ukrainian, Azerbaijani, English and Russian.
The representative of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Azerbaijan greeted the participants and praised the international cooperation between the universities in the field of education and science. “I am pleased to mention that our countries have been actively establishing scientific cooperation. Holding such events annually has become a tradition, which shows that the international relations in higher education and science are being continuously extended,” Heorhii Selskyi said.
The conference was dedicated to discussing the problems of building constructions development, technologies and equipment, town planning, constructions and engineering systems, as well as the problem of the energy efficiency of the economics in Ukraine and Azerbaijan. Scientists presented the results of their research and determined the perspectives of the industry development and specialist training. There were almost 300 participants in the online conference.
The Rector of Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, Doctor of Architecture, Professor Gulchohra Mammadova greeted the participants and the organizer of the conference - Rector, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko - on behalf of the whole university, “Thank you for the initiative and for having the opportunity to exchange experience even in such a difficult time. I believe that the topic of innovation is the most relevant in the modern world. The education field is also actively looking for innovative methods of teaching, the implementation of new technologies, deeper study of information technology, the support of business ideas.”
The representatives of 36 higher education institutions took part in the conference, among them were the scientists of Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture. The Rector of the university, the Honored Education Worker of Ukraine, the Winner of the State Award in Science and Technology, Doctor of Economics, Professor Petro Kulikov greeted the participants too and emphasized the importance of the cooperation between higher education institutions and between countries.
The ceremonial opening of the conference was followed by the scientists’ reports. The Head of the Department of Engineering System Construction and Buildings of Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, PhD in Engineering, Professor Nurmamed Mamedov spoke about the energy efficiency of buildings and the ways of its improvement. Doctor of Engineering, Professor of the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering and Technology of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Yurii Vynnykov presented a scientific report on the topic of “The Geotechnical Solutions for the Urban Development”. The scientist showed the consequences of low quality projects on the examples of buildings.
The sectional meetings of the 3d International Azerbaijani-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Building Innovations-2020” are planned for two days. 157 scientific reports will be presented at the conference.
Three sections were organized within the conference. They are as follows:
Section 1. “Building Constructions, Technologies and Equipment”, the moderators of which were S. F. Pichuhin, Doctor of Engineering, Professor, the Head of the Department of Metal, Wood and Plastic Constructions of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, and M. A. Gadzhyiev, Doctor of Engineering, Professor, the Head of the Department of Building Constructions of Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction.
Section 2. “Town, Building and Engineering System Planning”, the moderators of which were O. V. Semkov, Doctor of Engineering, Professor, the Head of the Department of Architecture and Town Planning of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, and N. Y. Mamedov, Doctor of Engineering, Associate Professor, the Head of the Department of Engineering Systems and Buildings Construction of Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction.
Section 3. “Energy Efficient Economics of Ukraine and Azerbaijan: The Problems of Today and the Future”, the moderators of which were V. Y. Chevhanova, PhD in Engineering, Professor, the Head of the Department of Economics, Business and Marketing of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, and S. A. Farzaliiev, Doctor of Engineering, Associate Professor, the Head of the Department of Technology, Organization and Management of Construction Business of Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction.
The results of the conference were published as a collection of conference reports at the university website.
We would like to remind you, that the 1st International Azerbaijani-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Building Innovations-2018” was held on May 24-25, 2018, at Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction. National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” was represented by a delegation of 25 participants - academic staff of the university.
