On April 17, a working meeting was held with the dean of the gas-oil industry faculty, professor Gafar Ismailov, head of the oilfield development and exploitation department, the professor, the correspondent member of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan Tulparhan Salatov, and the heads of the departments of the gas and oil exploration faculty of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industrial University.
The delegation of PoltNTU met with the leadership of the Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry. Summarizing the results of cooperation and identifying new directions of cooperation, the rector of the PoltNTU, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko and the rector of the ADDSU, Professor Mustafa Babanli agreed to enter into an agreement on the implementation of the first Ukrainian-Azerbaijani joint bachelor's degree training program for the students of the specialty "Oil and Gas Engineering and Technology".
At the invitation of the rector of PoltNTU Volodymyr Onischenko, Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli and a delegation from the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University will take part in the 2nd Sectoral Oil and Gas Forum, which will be held on the basis of PoltNTU in September 2018.
On April 18, with the assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine in Azerbaijan, the delegation of PoltNTU visited the Knowledge Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The working meeting was attended by the director of the Knowledge Foundation under the President of the Azerbaijani Republic Oktay Samedov, the adviser of the Embassy of Ukraine in Azerbaijan Alexander Senchenko, the first secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in Azerbaijan G. Shelsky, the rector of the PoltNTU Volodymyr Onischenko, the vice-rector for scientific and international work Svetlana Sivitskaya and Head of the Department of International Cooperation of the Knowledge Foundation under the President of the Azerbaijan Republic, Jail Mammadov. The parties presented their activities and identified the priority directions of cooperation, in particular, the work with gifted youth (the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences) and student youth, conducting of joint educational and scientific events and cultural exchange between Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
As a result of the meeting, the rector of PoltNTU Volodymyr Onischenko and director of the Knowledge Foundation under the President of the Azerbaijani Republic Oktay Samedov signed an agreement on cooperation. The agreement with PoltNTU is the first document signed in the framework of the January 2018 memorandum between the Embassy of Ukraine in Azerbaijan and the Knowledge Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
On April 18, a working meeting of Rector of PoltNTU Volodymyr Onyshchenko with Rector of Baku Oil High School of Elmar Gasimov was held. The parties discussed the implementation of Cooperation Memorandum signed last year between PoltNTU and Baku Oil High School. Already there was an experience exchange of highly skilled engineers practical training for Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
While in Baku university students, members of PoltNTU Student Branch, Society of Petroleum Engineers visited the Baku Oil Higher School and met students of Baku SPE Branch.
On April 19, Rector of PoltNTU, Professor Volodymyr Onyschenko visited Azerbaijan State Economic University, became acquainted with the leading economic university of Azerbaijan activities and met Rector of the university, Professor Adalat Muradov. Having a powerful educational and research institute of finance, economics and management, PoltNTU and Azerbaijan State Economic University have many common areas for the development of international cooperation. That is why, according to the results of the meeting, the rectors reached an agreement on signing a cooperation agreement between PoltNTU and ADEU during the visit of the university delegation to Baku in May 2018.
On April 19, the delegation of PoltNTU visited Azerbaijan Architectural and Construction University. Within the framework of the visit, the meeting was held with Rector of PoltNTU, Professor Volodymyr Onyschenko, and Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Work Svitlana Sivitska with Rector of Azerbaijan Architectural and Construction University, Professor Gulchokhra Mamedova, Vice-Rector for Academic Work, Arif Gazimov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work, Arif Sharifov and Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Nargiz Abdullaeva. University representatives discussed the state of preparation and worked out the organizational issues of holding the first Ukrainian-Azerbaijani conference "Building Innovations-2018", which PoltNTU conducts in conjunction with AZABU in Baku in May 2018.
On April 19, Rector of PoltNTU, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko and Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Work Svitlana Sivitska took part in the Annual Conference of International Association of Universities Presidents "Globalization and New Dimensions in Higher Education". The conference was attended by over 60 university leaders and honorary guests from Azerbaijan, Iran, Georgia, India, Poland, China, France, Mexico, Austria, Denmark, Ukraine and other countries.
At the beginning of the conference, together with the participants, the delegation of the university honored the memory of the national leader of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, in the Alley of Honor and laid flowers on the Alley of the memory of the heroes of Azerbaijan, who died for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, including the representatives of Ukraine.
The conference was opened by Rector of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, Professor Mustafa Babanli.
Participation in the conference was taken by Tsekhun Bayramov, Minister of Education of Azerbaijan Republic. Speaking about educational strategy in Azerbaijan, S. Bayramov spoke about the importance of human capital development and multilateral cooperation establishment in the conditions of modern globalization.
In his speech, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mykhaylo Chkhenkeli, noted that education is a space that requires even greater cooperation than other spheres of life. He emphasized the importance and relevance of such a conference and expressed his hope for a positive effect on the education system in Georgia.
The speech was made by Rector of Caucasus University, President of International Association of Presidents of Universities, Professor Kakha Shengelia, who noted that this conference is an important platform for the development of scientific cooperation and the establishment of new relations between different countries and peoples.
The panel was presented by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Azerbaijan Orel Buşez, who described Azerbaijan-French University as the most unique project in the field of higher education in both countries. The conference panel was then continued by Vice-President of Strasbourg University, Philippe Turek, who presented UFAS project to the participants.
The University delegation took part in the rectors of Azerbaijani and Georgian universities meeting with the participation of Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Mikhail Chkhenkeli and Minister of Education of Azerbaijan Tsekhoon Bayramov. The participants of the meeting agreed on the establishment of Azeri and Georgian Universities Association. Volodymyr Onischenko, Rector of PoltNTU, in his speech, informed the participants about the current trends in the reform of higher education in Ukraine and expressed readiness to join the Azerbaijani-Georgian-Ukrainian cooperation in the format of the association.
At the end of the first day of the conference, together with the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Mykhaylo Chkhenkel and the conference participants, Rector of PoltNTU got acquainted with the educational services and achievements exhibition of Azerbaijan universities.
On April 18, a working meeting of PoltNTU delegation and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Azerbaijan Oleksandr Mishchenko and adviser to Embassy of Ukraine in Azerbaijan Alexander Senchenko took place. Rector of PoltNTU Volodymyr Onyschenko presented to Mr. Ambassador the cooperation results of PoltNTU and Azerbaijani institutions of higher education. Mr. Ambassador and Rector of University discussed the prospects of Ukraine's popularization and cooperation with educational institutions.
At the invitation of Rector of PoltNTU, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Azerbaijan Alexander Mishchenko confirmed his participation in the opening of the first Ukrainian-Azerbaijani conference "Building Innovations-2018", which PoltNTU conducts in conjunction with AzBUU in Baku.
While in Baku with the assistance of Embassy of Ukraine in Azerbaijan, Rector of PoltNTU Volodymyr Onyschenko presented the University to the Public-Political Newspaper of ECHO «Azerbaijan and Ukraine are developing cooperation in the educational field», journalist J. Alekperov and International Information and Political Portal EurasiaDiary «How will the double diploma program work for Ukrainian and Azerbaijan students?», journalist Natalia Guliyeva.
