Polytechnic Becomes Partner of the First Virtual International Conference On Sustainable Education SEVIC 2020

National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” became a partner of the 1st Virtual International Conference on Sustainable Education SEVIC 2020 organized by Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University and the Non-Governmental Organization “Sustainable Development Landmarks” (Ivano-Frankivsk).

The academic staff of the Faculty of Humanities of our university will take part in the 1st Virtual International Conference on Sustainable Education SEVIC 2020 within the fruitful cooperation between National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” and Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. Experienced teachers and scientists will discuss the role of education as a key factor of the successful achievement of all the sustainable development goals, and the relevant problems of home, elementary, secondary and higher education in the context of rapid globalization.

“The academic staff of our structural subdivision eagerly joins all the initiatives of our university, participating in international and all-Ukrainian educational and scientific projects. It will even be easier for our scientists to join the professional communication because of the quick development of technologies. We are planning informative presentations and expecting a constructive dialogue with experienced professionals, as the topic of the conference is incredibly relevant. We fight new globalization challenges every day, and education is a great marker that shows the development of the whole Ukrainian society. We will borrow the best world experience and integrate it into our education,” a speaker of the conference, PhD in Pedagogy, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Anna Ageicheva commented.

The 1st Virtual International Conference on Sustainable Education SEVIC 2020 will be held on December 11-13 this year at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. Due to the lockdown limitations and anti-pandemic measures, the conference will be limited to online format. The virtual form of the conference at Cisco WebEx will include interactive plenary meetings and parallel sessions for deeper discussion of the relevant problems of home, elementary, secondary and higher education and life-long learning.

The main speakers have already been announced in the informational leaflet.

The objections of the conference include:

  • Raising global and national awareness on sustainable development challenges and the crucial role of education as a key enabler of the successful achievement of all the SDGs;
  • Raising awareness of the existing European and global frameworks that are relevant for sustainable education;
  • Bringing the problems of the Ukrainian system of education on the agenda of the EU- and national stakeholders in the sustainable education field;
  • Bringing together diversity of experiences from across the globe towards education for change and bringing in the element of quality improvement in education.

The organizers have planned three webinars on such relevant problems as media literacy, academic integrity and the role of ICT in ensuring sustainable education.
